Taste, don't just drink!

We believe in trying new things and learning about them. What better way to do so than having a tasting with us, some quality libations and other likeminded souls?

It's about broadening horizons and quality, not quantity; drinking less but drinking better.

Our purpose-built tasting room can accommodate up to 30 people for our regular tasting nights as well as ad-hoc tastings for private groups. We can cater for hen and stag parties, birthdays, corporate gatherings and general events. We can also come to your office or workspace. We have run large-scale tastings and classes for up to 300 people at venues such as the Lighthouse and Kelvingrove Art Gallery.

To buy tickets for any of the following tasting nights please pop into the store or call 0141 258 8427. All tasting tickets are limited and are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please note that tickets can not be reserved without payment and tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

New tastings are announced at the start of each month. There is usually a discount available on the bottles tried on the night.

June

Gin Tasting - Friday 22nd June 2018 - SOLD OUT

Our second gin tasting of the month will be a repeat of the previous week's. So there will be six gins, most of them new arrivals, and a very fine cocktail, but if you were here on the 15th then everything will be eerily familiar.

Hair of the Dog: Wine Tasting - Sunday 24th June 2018 - TWO TICKETS LEFT

This will be our second Sunday afternoon dog-friendly event, and once again spaces will be limited to eighteen, to make room for the pooches. We'll be sampling eight wines drawn from our shelves at 105 West Nile Street, with the admirably simple theme of "Deliciousness".

Rare & Old Whisky Tasting - Friday 29th June 2018 - TWO TICKETS LEFT

Angus MacRaild returns with his inimitable brand of expert chat and six examples of whiskies from a bygone age, distilled in a time when Scotch was very different from the modern era.

The Good Cocktail Club - Saturday 30th June 2018

For June's cocktail club we welcome Claire Best from Amathus Drinks. Claire has been mixing up fine drinks for many years, most notably at Milk & Honey in Soho and Callooh Callay, Shoreditch.

The Pocket Guide To Beer - Thursday 5th July 2018

Beer expert Joe Dick joins us to pour some fine beers and talk about his new book, the Pocket Guide to Beer.

Gin Tasting - Friday 6th July 2018

Taste six gins chosen from our extensive selection - with a focus on the new arrivals and current popular favourites. We'll be exploring the history of gin and the stories behind the labels, and we'll also mix up a fine cocktail to welcome you to the event.

Douglas Laing Whisky Tasting - Thursday 12th July 2018 - SOLD OUT

Glaswegian independent bottlers Douglas Laing return to present another fine set of drams from their current range.

West End Gin Tasting - Thursday 26th July 2018

We've partnered with Partickhill Community & Bowling club for an exciting duo of West End tasting events. The first of these is a Gin tasting. Join us as we explore the current juniper craze, and along the way we'll sample six gins chosen from our shelves at 21 Clarence Drive. We'll also mix up a tasty gin cocktail to welcome you to the event.

West End Cigar & Spirits Tasting - Friday 27th July 2018

For the second of our events in partneship with Partickhill Community & Bowling club we'll be exploring one of the classic pairings for booze - cigars. We'll be tasting whisky, brandy, and other fine spirits alongside a brace of top quality Havana cigars.

Champagne Tasting - Friday 27th July 2018

Join us to sample six fine fizzes ranging from the grandest of Grandes Marques to the most cutting edge of grower bottlings as we explore the history of the world's most prestigious sparkling wine.

The Good Cocktail Club - Saturday 28th July 2018

This is our regular mixology event, featuring drinks recipes specially devised for the evening. We demonstrate the making of three fine cocktails, sample some of the ingredients, and you get to enjoy the results.

WSET

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines - Sunday 5th / 12th / 19th August 2018

This structured and informative course explores the major grape varieties and important regions that define the world’s key wines. You’ll learn about production, key labelling terminology and major classifications to help you identify wines with confidence. A basic introduction to the main spirits categories is also provided as an online video segment and in-class revision exercise. No prior knowledge is required. Students completely new to wine and spirits study may wish to complete the Level 1 Award in Wines first. However, this is not essential. More information about the course can be found on our website.

WSET Level 3 Award in Wines - Sunday 2nd / 9th / 16th / 23rd September / 7th / 14th October 2018

This course will develop to a high-level your ability to describe wine accurately, and account in detail for the style, quality and price of wines. Our experienced educator will assist you to develop your analytic tasting abilities through a carefully selected series of wine samples. This course is open to students who have passed the Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits. If you do not hold the Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits, but have obtained the relevant knowledge and experience, you may be eligible to gain entry through successful completion of an online entry test.
