WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits

For individuals wishing to develop their expertise in spirits and liqueurs, you’ll learn about the fundamental production methods and principal raw materials discovering how they are used to make the key spirit styles. You’ll also explore the key practices and principles of serving spirits and the use of spirits in cocktails. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

The next presentation of the course will be over three consecutive Sundays (10th, 17th and 24th) in March 2019, 10am-5.30pm, in our shop at 23 Bath Street in Glasgow.

About the course

This course covers the main categories of spirits and liqueurs as well as the influences of production methods on the different styles available in each category. Students will develop high level analytical tasting skills while also exploring the use of spirits in cocktails. The product knowledge gained on this course will be a significant advantage to those working with spirits in both the on- and off-trade.

How much does it cost?

The course costs £395 which includes all study materials, spirit samples, tuition, use of ISO tasting glasses, examination and postage. Study materials are issued at the start of the course.

Additional Information

No prior knowledge is required. Students completely new to spirits study may wish to complete the Level 1 Award in Spirits first. However, this is not essential. You will be expected to read the provided text book prior to commencing the course. You can read more about the Level 2 qualification on the WSET website.
