James E Pepper 1776 Barrel Proof Rye
A barrel proof straight rye whiskey made with over 90% rye in the mash bill.
The Pepper family first started producing whiskey back in 1780 at the start of the American revolution and continued for three generations, before production ceased in the late 1950s. The brand was resurrected in 2008 and currently produces whiskey in collaboration with the Lawrenceburg Distillery in Indiana while work continues on renovating and redeveloping the original Pepper distillery in Lexington, Kentucky.
