The first general release of malt from Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso. A gristy wee cracker!
Although the whisky bears no age statement, the distillery was only opened in early 2013, meaning that this first release is just three years old.
Our tasting note:
This is a fresh, youthful dram. The attack is salty and gristy, with a refreshing top note of lemons. The palate is very gristy, but not too raw. There is a really interesting saline or mineralic note in the finish. Overall, this is a very promising start for Wolfburn.
