An 18 year old single cask Croftengea—one of the peated expressions of Loch Lomond—from independent bottlers Single Cask Nation.
Released by independent bottlers Single Cask Nation, this single cask Croftengea was distilled in February 2005, aged 18 years in a second fill bourbon hogshead (cask no. 266) and bottled in March 2023 in an outturn of 284 bottles at a cask strength of 50.6%.
Croftengea is one of the many different single malts that Loch Lomond distillery produces. The various marques are then combined into the fammiliar brands such as Inchmurrin and Loch Lomond itself.
Our tasting note: Funky lemonade. Citrus and grass juice. What Hope Mirrlees calls "the cleanly stench" of fermentation. On the palate it's mouth coating, with savoury burger-on-toast notes (with a fruity relish, maybe apple chutney).
Single Cask Nation's tasting notes: "pickled onions, honey, cocoa, smoke"
Natural colour. Non chill filtered.
