Auchentoshan American Oak
Replacing the Auchentoshan Classic from summer 2014, this is a slightly sweeter, richer malt with a rounded, spicy finish.
Auchentoshan, founded in 1823, lies between Glasgow and Clydebank. It is unique amongst Scottish distillers in that all of the whisky is triple distilled.
It is thought that this is because Auchentoshan was built to serve the community of Irish immigrants to the West of Scotland - triple distillation produces a lighter style of whisky similar to Irish whiskey.
