Ailsa Bay Release 1.2 'Sweet Smoke'


The second release of William Grant & Sons' Ailsa Bay is distilled at a carefully controlled 022 pppm (phenol parts per million) and 019 sppm (sweet parts per million) and then matured for a very precise balance of sweet and smoky flavours.


Distilled in Girvan, Ailsa Bay is not only precisely managed in its distillation but also 'micro matured' in small Hudson Baby Bourbon casks for six to nine months for a rapid initial ageing, before being transferred to virgin, first-fill and refill American oak.
