El Ron Prohibido Solera 12
Mexican rum from a twelve year solera system, with a distinctive bitter-sweet taste. And in a cool retro-jug.
El Ron Prohibido is made using sugar cane juice, distilled in a column still. It is then aged in a solera system which gradually blends old and young rums together for a balanced taste combining fresher, fruitier flavours with more mellow woody notes. A little raisin wine is added to enhance the traditional flavours of this style of rum.
The rum is labelled Habanero, despite being Mexican, because traditionally Havana in Cuba was the last port of call for ships returning to Spain with casks of the rum. It was also sometimes called Chinguirito.
