From MacMillan Spirits Co. based on the island of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides, Machair Gin is made using plants from the machair, a strip of low-lying fertile land that sits around the coastlines of the Hebrides and was grazed by the local crofters' small herds over the summer months.
The first batch of Machair gin is made with wild angelica root and island heathers, giving an aromatic and herbaceous gin. It is bottled without filtration and at a strength of 46% for an oilier texture.
