Woodrow's of Edinburgh began as whisky cask traders, before also starting to release their own independent bottlings.
This 12 year old Mortlach was distilled on 19/01/2010, matured in a refill hogshead and then finished in a first fill oloroso sherry American oak hogshead and bottled at cask strength on 07/10/2022 in an outturn of 275 bottles. Cask no. 900300644.
Woodrow's tasting notes...
Nose: Sultana & raisin, black treacle, Christmas pudding with sweet maltiness, hints of marzipan.
Palate: Salted meat, espresso, winter spices like nutmeg and clove and more black treacle.
Finish: Oily finish with earthy spices and dark chocolate.
Natural colour. Non chill filtered. Cask strength.
