The Distillers Edition has been double matured for a rich, sweet taste. For the final year or so of its maturation the whisky is transferred to ex sherry barrels, resulting in greater depth of flavour and complexity.
Talisker is the only whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye. Established in 1830, it has long been regarded as being amongst the best. Robert Louis Stevenson, in his poem The Scotsman's Return from Abroad, refers to "The king o' drinks, as I conceive it, Talisker, Isla, or Glenlivet!"
