A special edition batch strength release from Torabhaig distillery on the Isle of Skye. This is the final batch of the Allt Gleann chapter of The Legacy Series, and is the first time that the new island distillery has bottled a batch strength expression.
It is a heavily peated single malt made with Concerto barley with in-grain phenols content of over 78 ppm (the measure most commonly used by many distilleries). The residual phenols level at bottling is 22.8 ppm. It has been aged in a mix of first fill bourbon barrels and refill whisky barrels.
Producer's tasting notes: "Smoke & brine. A robustly peated spirit with a deceptively refined character, resulting in a complex and characterful maritime whisky."
Natural colour. Non chill filtered. Bottled at natural batch strength from a small lot of casks.
